Karekare House
Formerly the Finn brother's recording studio, we updated the kitchen with Microcement surfacing, including the floor, kitchen bench side panels and backsplash. Photography: Camille Sanson.
Seamless Bathroom
Grout stains are a common problem with bathroom tiling, a walk-in wet room is a much more convenient solution, and the textured velvety look of Microcement is stunning. Microcement creates a continuous and seamless finish thats easy to clean with a sponge and shower nozzle, the water falls away along a gently sloping floor. Using a single material and colour throughout this room created a very contemporary and restful space.
Large Kitchen Extension
Over 160m2 of Microcement flooring, 3 bathrooms, concrete kitchen tops and island unit, and a plush outdoor BBQ – all cast in-situ. Microcement was applied over a 24mm plywood beam and block floor, and existing concrete slabs in the outside area. This is a testament of how strong and flexible Microcement can be when all preparation work is undertaken properly. The solid concrete island, cast in-situ, spans over 4 meters and polished to perfection.
Indoor / Outdoor Flooring
We do Microcement and concrete floors, or a combination of both. Create a seamless look between indoor and outdoor or a colour/texture/material contrast. Microcement has the advantage of not requiring expansion gaps, its flexible and therefore seamless but not suitable for outdoor environments exposed to a lot of rain and falling debris. There are 30+ different colours available in Microcement .
More Microcement applications
At 2-3mm thick, Microcement can be used for surfacing door panels, display plinths, stairs, table tops, built-in seating, ceilings and more. A unique texture that will set any interior apart from the rest. This technique is coveted by today's top interior and architectural designers, we've seen a huge increased in demand for this product.
Commerical Projects
While most of our work is residential, we have completed many commercial projects over the years, including flooring and bar at the Carlsberg HQ in London, Venetian plastered walls for a wine bar and more.
Cast Concrete
We also cast concrete in-situ, an alternative to timber and Microcement objects. Like Microcement we can create a continuous surface for benchtops, sinks, draining channels, backsplashes and wet walls. A variety of pigments and textures available. Cast concrete can also be finished in a microcement render.
